As the work week kicks off, Email scammers are still hard at work sending out spam messages that are designed to fool unsuspecting recipients into clicking on dangerous links and files that could cause a computer virus or infection.

Today’s Email is titled “Scan from a Xerox W. Pro #74559604” and purports to be sent from a RAQUEL CRAWFORD.

The message was sent using the Email address RemingtonRichmann@atkins-ea.com.

The full text of the message reads:

Please open the attached document. It was scanned and sent to you using a Xerox Work Pro .

Attachment File Type: .HTML(Internet Explorer File)

Device: 830AL5O0766438

As the Email tells you, the message contains an attachment that the ‘sender’ wants you to open. If you make the mistake of following through and clicking on this attachment, your next big issue is going to be removing the virus and fixing your computer, which is never a good use of anyone’s time.

If you get this message, be sure not to not open this attachment to avoid any complications that could arise as a result of it. In fact, you should go one further and delete this message – and any others that are similar to it – immediately.
