If you’re just getting ready to start the new week and you notice an Email with the subject line ‘Your Skype Account Has Been Limited!‘ don’t freak out, as this message is a phishing Email designed to fooling you into clicking on a malicious link.

The full text of the message reads,
Dear Skype Client,
This is an automatic message by the system to let you know that you have to confirm your account information within 48 hours.
Your account has been frozen temporarily in order to protect it. The account will continue to be frozen until it is approved.To proceed to confirm your account information please click on the link below and follow the instructions that will be required :

Once you have updated your account records, your information will be confirmed and your account will start to work as normal once again.
This will help protect you in the future. The process does not take more than 5 minutes.

As you can see, the ‘sender’ has provided a clear instruction to “Click Here” but if you hover over the link you’ll notice that it resolves to a site other than Skype.
If you get this message be sure to delete it immediately to avoid any complications that result from a computer virus, malware or a trojan software program that could be caused by it.
