With so many people looking for gainful employment these days, it comes as no surprise that Email scammers are trying to target job searchers using tactical Emails.
If you recently received an Email titled ‘Careerbuilder.com Has Found A Vacant Position For You’ or a variation like ‘You might be interested in this vacant position‘ resist the urge to click on the links provided in the messages, as this isn’t a legitimate Email and could result in a computer infection.
The Email purports to be sent from someone with an address of ’wildcardname@site.careerbuilder.com.’ The full text of the Email reads:
Hello,
I am a customer service representative at CareerBuilder. I found a vacant position at Security Finance Corporation that you may find appealing to you based on details from your resume or a recent online submission you made on our site. You can review the position on the CareerBuilder site here:
Chief accounting officer

If you get this message, be sure not to click on any of the links contained in the Email and delete it from your Inbox immediately to prevent computer complications associated with viruses, trojans and other malicious code.
