Beware Of ‘BBB Assistance Re: Case # 04947729′ Making Rounds On The Internet
Attention business owners of all sizes!
If you get an Email message that has a subject line of BBB Assistance Re: Case # 04947729 or a variation of this Case number, this is an Email designed to trick you. The person(s) behind the message are using psychology to get you to click on an infected .zip file attachment because they know that most responsible business owners will want to know what consumer complaint was made against their company.
The full text of the BBB phishing Email reads:

The details of the consumer’s concern are presented in attached document.
Please examine this matter and notify us of your opinion.
We encourage you to open the ATTACHED REPORT to reply this complaint.
We look forward to your prompt attention to this matter.

If you received this Email message, be sure to delete it immediately to avoid catching a nasty computer virus or downloading Malware or Trojans to your computer.
Remember, although Email is a great way to keep in contact with clients, suppliers, colleagues, business partners, friends and family not all messages are legitimate. Always exercise care and think twice before clicking on suspicious looking links and attached files. If you’re unsure whether or not a link contained in an Email is safe, use your mouse to ‘hover’ over the questionable link and if it shows a URL that’s different from the link being displayed, you can be sure this is something that needs to be sent to the ‘trash’ in short order.
I hope that this post saved you from an afternoon filled with computer troubles and if so, I ask that you share this with others so they can avoid the same fate. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
