Can Your Customers Find Your Restaurant Online?

Posted on: January 27th, 2012 by Heather 2 Comments

Owning and operating a restaurant or bar can be exhausting work. As a business owner, you're tasked with making sure you have enough employees to work the kitchen and dining floor, keeping food and beverage inventories supplied, keeping your establishment clean and providing a great dining experience that keeps customers coming back for more.

This is a big responsibility and when you're busy taking care of all the fine details of daily business, you might not consider the importance of having an online Web Presence to help promote new business at your diner, deli, coffee shop, bar or restaurant.

Nothing Proves The Need For A Restaurant Web Presence Builder More Than A Recent Study Conducted By Pew Research

People Research Local Venues Online

People Research Local Venues Online

The study, Where People Get Information About Restaurants And Local Businesses found that 55% of adults polled said that they research and get news about local bars and restaurants. Of that 55%, 51% turn to the internet to find out more information on local establishments. 38% rely on Search engines to provide relevant information about places their considering.

If You Don't Have A Website You're Missing Out On Business Opportunities!

The simple fact is that if you don't have a website that can be easily found using search engines such as Bing, Yahoo and Google, people might overlook your establishment and decide to patronize another place because they were able to find out more information like menu offerings, happy hour offerings, pricing, specialty dishes, special events or live entertainment at their website. While you might think that you have coverage at popular websites such as Yelp or UrbanSpoon, these sites aren't as effective as owning your own business website to promote your offerings.

Social Media Plays A Small Role In Restaurant Research Done Online

3% answered that they use Twitter and other social networking sites for news and updates on local businesses, so if you don't have a website and you aren't using social media to reach out to potential customers, you could really be missing the boat in today's thriving online advertising market. Web Presence Builder comes equipped with one-click Facebook page publication and social sharing buttons that make sharing your website with friends and followers even easier!

Other integration tools such as Google Analytics integration and easy Sitemap submission gives you everything you need to get your website noticed in search engines and attract new and returning customers to your restaurant or bar.

The fact is almost everyone expects to be able to find their favorite restaurants and bars online, so if you're behind the curve you're only hurting yourself and you should consider getting your business online today.

Whenever I go out to eat I make sure I scan the menu first online. I Google the site and read what they have.

I am sure I’m not alone.

It’s always nice to see what kind of offerings a place has before going there. That way you can decide what you want before you get there.
